PATIENTS in the respiratory unit of the Alexandra Hospital will now benefit from a new piece of medical equipment thanks to a motorsport club near Inkberrow.
Radford Autograss Club recently raised enough money to buy an ultrasonic nebulizer to present to the hospital in memory of one of its founder members, who died recently.
Harry Badger and a group of young men from Radford formed the club in 1968 and Mr Badger gave a lot of time and energy to the club, particularly during his time as chairman.
Present chairman Paul Waldron said: "The club owes a lot to Harry.
"We know he was so grateful for the help he had from the nurses in the respiratory unit and the club felt it wanted to show its appreciation to them in Harry's memory."
Mr Badger's son still races with the club at Westol Hall Farm in Radford, near Inkberrow.
Respiratory nurse Trish Bennett said: "The sonic nebulizer is very useful to patients on medication for lung conditions who want to go on holiday.
"It's a lightweight, portable and efficient method of delivering treatment.
"We're very grateful to Radford Autograss Club who have donated this equipment in memory of one of our former patients."
