ONE of the most famous characters from 1970s television is giving a helping hand to the Acorns Children's Hospice Trust.
Paul Henry, who used to play Benny in Crossroads, will be on hand all evening to keep everyone entertained at the Anchor Inn, Kempsey, which is holding a Halloween evening of fun for all the family in aid of Acorns new hospice, which is being built in Worcester.
Held on Friday, October 31, the event will also have food, fireworks, music and a charity auction.
Prizes for the auction include a family ticket for four to Worcester Rugby Club, as well as UB40 memorabilia and much more.
As it is Halloween, fancy dress is optional and there will be a prize for the best costume.
The evening kicks off at 6.30pm with a barbecue and pig roast, followed by the fireworks display.
At 8.30pm singer Paula Ann, from Kidderminster, will take the stage and perform popular hits before the auction begins at 9.30pm.
Admission to the event costs £1 for adults and is free for children.
Any companies interested in donating prizes for the auction please call Roger Bishton on 01905 820411 or 07733290840.
