A VILLAGE resident is angry a week after construction workers cut through a cable leaving many people without access to phone lines.
Michelle Higgins said she is fuming over BT's delay in restoring lines to Martley after the incident, last Tuesday.
"There are many elderly residents in this area who now don't have access to a phone, which is a lifeline for many," said Mrs Higgins, aged 52, of Sandpits Close.
"My mother's 84 and she can't contact me at all as my mobile phone doesn't work very well in this area because of poor reception. It's worrying for her and many people here."
She has been told by BT officials that the cable will be fixed by Friday, October 24, but she says that is too long.
Around 20 homes are believed to have been affected.
BT was unavailable for comment as the Evening News went to press.
