DAVID Officer was taken off during Worcester United's 26-26 draw with Oxford University last night after an injury scare.
The centre, who scored a try in the Sixways match, felt his hamstring following the score and left the field as a precaution. Officer has only just returned to action following a tear in the same hamstring.
Worcester's director of rugby John Brain, however, believes Officer should be in contention for Saturday's Powergen Cup clash with Exeter Chiefs.
"I expect him to be available for selection," said Brain. "It was just a precaution that we brought him off. We didn't want to take any chances."
Worcester, featuring a number of first team players and academy starlets, began the game well and Nathan Burchill and Neil Mason scored tries, both converted by Jon Higgins.
Oxford, though, hit back and were 23-14 up in the second half before Jon Hylton and Officer touched down. Higgins added another conversion but missed one which would have won United the match after the University side had kicked another penalty.
