CHAIRMAN Colin Youngjohns has praised Kidderminster Harriers fans for understanding the severe financial pressures the club have to cope with in a bid to become an established Football League outfit.

Hard-up Harriers are constantly battling to contend with cash restrictions which limit their ability to compete with many of their rivals in the Nationwide League Division Three.

Their efforts to generate much needed funds are hit by being one of the least supported clubs in the Football League.

Life-long Kidderminster fan Youngjohns says: "I have said many times over the last three years that life will never be easy for Harriers at this level of the game. By any Football League criteria we are a small club and that will always place financial limitations on our actions."

He added: "I fully understand that the acceptance of this unpalatable reality is very frustrating for some supporters. None the less a stark reality is what it is and its acceptance means that we cannot approach major decisions that may have ruinous consequences for the club, in a cavalier fashion.

"Fortunately, although there are only around a couple of thousand people who take an active part in supporting the club, I am encouraged by the quality of that support and lifted by the positive comments we continue to get from many people demonstrating their awareness of the difficulties we labour under in establishing Harriers as a bone fide Football League club."
