THREE widows re-enter the dating game in the funny and moving comedy The Cemetery Club at Malvern Theatres.

Anne Charleston, Michele Dotrice and Shirley Anne Field take the lead roles in Ivan Menchell's play, which runs from Monday, October 20 to Saturday, October 25.

Edward Woodward also stars, joining wife Michele on stage for the first time in 12 years.

Doris, played by Anne Charleston, is a straight-laced, no-nonsense person who lives for the memory of her husband. Ida (Michele Dotrice) is slightly frumpy and missing company, whilst Lucille (Shirley Anne Field) is flirty, sassy and in the market for a rich husband.

The three are The Cemetery Club, meeting for tea and then to visit the graves of their husbands. All is well, until the arrival of charming widower Sam (Edward Woodward).

Performances are at 8pm, with Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2.30pm. Tickets are £12 to £20 on 01684 892277.

Ahead of the play comes cricketer Phil Tufnell, who will be talking about his career and winning role on TV's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. The event, in aid of Worcestershire cricketer David Leatherdale's benefit year, is on Tuesday (October 14) at 7.30pm.

Tufnell, affectionately nicknamed The Cat, made his Middlesex debut in 1986 and fast established a reputation as one of the game's characters, once missing a game while out shopping for a fridge.

One of the most effective spin bowlers of recent years, he made his England debut at Melbourne Cricket Ground in the Ashes tour of 1990-91. The high point of his career was a match-winning 11-93 in the final test against Australia at the Oval in 1997.

Tickets are £10 and £12 from the box office.
