Had some faggots the other day - home-made ones. Sheppo brought some in for me. Don't they taste good.

Home-made faggots taste so much better than the ones you buy frozen do they not? Never mind the after effects, faggots taste great.

It reminded me of the old faggots and peas shop that used to be in Newport Street in Worcester. Anyone remember it?

Amazing, but today you couldn't have a shop that sold just faggot and peas, and that's why it isn't there now I guess.

Takeaways have taken over. Chinese, Indian, Taiwanese and the like and some of them are very good.

The other night I tried the new place in the middle of Worcester, the Angel Chef, and I know I am not supposed to advertise, but I tell you what, it was good - eat all you call for £9.99. Now, I can eat and I don't think they made too much out of me... but it is good, give it a try.

Anyway, back to the old takeaways. There were loads of fish and chips at one time - and there are still a few good ones around.

Anyone remember the one in George Street, by the Locomotive pub? Blimey, you got a shed load there, and they were well greasy!

I always remember they used to have a cat sat on the counter - wouldn't get away with that these days.

Went in one night and the cat had gone, and the chicken did taste a bit different that night...

My old mate Bill Rutter - God bless him, no longer with us - used to reckon to always get his chips from George Street. Wven if we were in Kidder for the evening we had to come back to George Street.

By the way, my mate Rick the K is not happy. Remember, he's the spoon collector, and we were looking for the name for spoon collectors. George Cowley has upset the K, and he will be replying to the suggestion that people who collect spoons are fat-heads.

It also appears that Gel, the Queen Of Bath Road, is a bit upset at no mention in the Bradders column of her excellent food and drink at the Albion.

There you go Gel, diet coke and a pie and chips please... or maybe faggots and peas.
