A MALVERN man retired last week after 41 years working on the roads of Worcestershire.

Dennis Wilcox began his career in 1962 with Worcestershire County Council and has spent the last four years with RCS, the county's maintenance contractors.

He has been responsible for sign erection for the last ten years and has taken an active part in the Village Speed Limit Initiative and the Safer Routes to School scheme.

Mr Wilcox's long service and contribution to Worcestershire's roads was recognised at a ceremony held by RCS at its Newland Depot in Malvern.

Steve Jenkins, from RCS, Mike Davis, from the Malvern Hills Highways Partnership, and John Garner, former division surveyor for the Malvern Hills, were present to congratulate Mr Wilcox on his achievement and wish him well for the future.
