WITH reference to the article in last week's Malvern Gazette concerning our relocation plans, I need to point out that our ground has NOT been sold to Barratts.
We simply have a contract with them to pursue the sale of the existing site, on the basis that any sale is subject to a number of conditions, including our relocation to an acceptable site. Clearly if this process is concluded satisfactorily, then and only then, would the sale to Barratts go through.
Although your article rightly states this latter condition, the freehold still very much belongs to the club.
A subtle difference I know, but an important one.
I would be grateful if this could be redressed in next week's Gazette as it will cause concern among our membership.
