ELECTIONS for places on the board of the Malvern Hills Conservators will be held in five areas.
Nominations for seats closed on Monday, with contests being declared in West, Wells, Dyson Perrins, Priory and Link wards.
The elections will be held on Thursday, October 30, with a count at Priory Lodge Hall, Malvern.
In West ward the election will be between sitting member David Hawkins and Christopher Rouse, while in Wells ward sitting member and former board chairman Brian Wilcock is challenged by Jane Hollman.
David McKerracher and Andrew Myatt contest the Dyson Perrins seat, with Ralph Madden challenging sitting member Richard Witcomb in Priory.
In Link ward, Arthur Turner faces a challenge from Edward Fahey and Alistair Macmillan, who is looking to return to the board.
There were no candidates in Guarlford ward and the vacancy will remain unless ten electors come forward to request a by-election.
Ray Roberts in Chase, Susan Thetford in Mathon, Brian Pilcher in Pickersleigh and David Ward and William Watts in Colwall were all returned unopposed
The new local authority nominees are: Malvern Hills District Council - Mike Angell, Roger Hall-Jones, John Raine, Pat Raven, Phillip Rumney, Stephen Try, John Tretheway and Julia Wildin.
Worcestershire County Council - Bryan Smith and Jeremy Webb.
Herefordshire Council - Peter Harling, Roy Stockton, John Plant (Castlemorton), Tony Phillips (Newland), and Martin Cordey (Powick).
Colwall Parish Council - Steve Hockett. Mathon Parish Council - Richard Thomas.
Church Commissioners - Sue Adeney.
