Traffic lights should be installed at Newtown cross-roads, which has one of the worst accident records in Herefordshire, says county councillor Rob Manning.
Hesays the success of lights at Trumpet crossroads should be proof that they would work.
Since lights were put up at Trumpet in March 1999, there has been only one officially recorded road traffic casualty, compared to ten at Newtown.
Last month, Malvern man Dave Pitchford was killed near Newtown crossroads.
Coun Manning said: "Tme lost waiting for lights to change is preferable to road closure as the result of an accident."
