PLANS have been submitted build ten three-bedroom houses in Colwall.
Consent has already been granted for six houses off Station Road, but developer Miton Ltd has changed its mind with regard to the site.
Managing director Brian Holton said: "We originally intended to build six larger houses but we've now decided to build ten slightly less expensive properties, to meet the needs of the market in the area. We're aiming the properties at young families."
Miton bought the land more than three years ago and has been in negotiation with Station Road owners and Network Rail over building an access road to the site.
Mr Holton said: "We'll begin building work as soon as we get planning permission.
"Hopefully, we can start before winter sets in, so the houses will be ready to go on sale next summer."
Miton was the company behind the development of the Lockyear's Garage site in the village in 1999. The company, based near the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, is currently completing work on 17 bungalows in Ledbury and plans to develop sites in Rushwick and Evesham.
Colwall Parish Council has declined to comment on the development prior to its meeting on Wednesday (October 15), when the application will be discussed.
