COMMUNITY groups in and around Malvern are celebrating the training of the 100th volunteer minibus driver.
Simon Wilkinson, who is about to start helping the new Upton-upon-Severn shuttle service, is the latest driver to be trained by the Malvern based Community Action charity.
The group has offered the minibus to groups in the area for the last five years and in that time has trained 100 drivers to man the vehicle.
Community Action deputy co-ordinator Diane Bellamy paid tribute to the volunteers.
"They are absolutely brilliant in my opinion. They give up so much of their time," said Diane.
"Groups rely on the bus to take them to coffee mornings or to get to meetings. It has regular users most days of the week."
But the group is still keen to add to its century of drivers.
"We're always looking desperately for new drivers because there are often times when you use a number of drivers and people are away for whatever reason," said Diane.
