How Madresfield Court provided the inspiration for Brideshead Revisited is the subject of a talk that begins the final week of the Autumn in Malvern Festival.
Novelist Evelyn Waugh's grandson Alexander, who is writing a history of the family, will give his Madresfield Revisited talk at Malvern Theatres' cinema tomorrow (Saturday) at 11am. Tickets are £6.
Later in the day, the Downs School, in Colwall, will host a concert, Under An October Moon, with Louise Vale on violin, John Wilson on piano and Robert Swinton as reader.
It will feature work by Boris Pasternak as well as Prokofiev and Bach, the main composers celebrated during the festival.
The evening begins at 7.30pm and tickets are £7.50, including a glass of wine or juice.
The festival, which began on September 20, will end with an illustrated talk on Malvern architect Troyte Griffith at the Foley Arms Hotel on Sunday. Troyte Griffith: A Malvern Enigma will be presented by Dr Jim Berrow, executive producer of music and arts for Independent Television in the Midlands. Tickets for the event, which begins at 11am, are £5.50.
