THE return of Drewe Broughton is set to be the main talking point when fellow strugglers Southend visit on Saturday.

But more important for Harriers will be to build on their victory over Carlisle against opponents who are yet to win at Aggborough.

Southend lost 2-1 in 2000-01, 2-0 in 2001-02 which was Ian Britton's first game in charge as caretaker manager and 1-0 last season to a John Melligan strike.

They made numerous changes in a summer shake-up under boss Steve Wignall but the new players, including Broughton, seem to be taking time to gel.

The Essex side have won just two games out of 13, both in August at home to Cheltenham (2-0) and Bury (1-0).

Though Southend are yet to triumph away from home, they have improved form on their travels with two draws at Scunthorpe (1-1) and Darlington (0-0) last month.

Broughton has started Southend's last two games but only has the one goal this season in 12 appearances, scored in the League Cup against Swindon.

Wignall has an injury doubt over midfielder Leke Odunsi (ankle) for the weekend.

Top scorer is former Brentford forward Leon Constantine with four goals.

Harriers then head to London on Tuesday and face former Premier League side Queen's Park Rangers in the LDV Trophy first round.

After finishing third and reaching the Division Two play-offs in the last campaign, QPR are again chasing promotion.

Ian Holloway's team are second in the table and can boast plenty of experience, such as former Birmingham striker Paul Furlong who has six goals.

Lively winger Gareth Ainsworth has bagged the same amount and a recent QPR signing is ex-Newcastle man Warren Barton.
