Chaddesley Corbett 3, Pershore 6

PERSHORE began this year's Coac-hing Solutions League campaign typically unprepared and fell behind within five minutes.

This sparked the visitors into action and they soon drew level with a sublime short corner routine between Hughes, Taylor and Lisle, which saw the latter net the equaliser.

Pershore then dominated the first half to lead 3-1 at the break courtesy of goals from Lisle and Taylor.

The second half started in similar fashion to the first with Chaddesley scoring early on.

This again sparked the visitors into life and they scored three more goals through Taylor, Raynor and Scudamore.

The hosts attempted to pressurise the Pershore defence and in the closing moments of the game scored a third while also missing a penalty flick. Anderson's save capping an excellent match for the young goalkeeper.

Despite the win, Pershore will be looking to improve on their defensive performance ahead of Saturday's home match against Aston University.

Pershore II 0, Bromsgrove II 3

PERSHORE started their league programme with defeat against their local rivals whose sharper finishing divided the teams.

Bromsgrove took the lead with an unstoppable shot from their first short corner towards the end of the half.

Pershore were much more positive in the second half when they forced the visitors on to the back foot for long periods, but were unlucky to find the Bromsgrove keeper in fine form.

Shots from Andrews and Handley were foiled by fine saves. Unfortunately, as so often happens when teams push forward, two quick breaks and excellent finishes killed off game Pershore's chance of taking anything from the match.

Bromsgrove III 3, Pershore III 0

UNAVAILABILITY meant that Pershore put out an inexperienced side against one of the section's better sides as they fielded seven players under 16.

It is to the credit of the whole side that they fought gallantly throughout and managed to restrict the opposition to just three goals all of which came from short corner routines.

Credit has to go to Handley, Ingram and Gill who strove manfully to contain the Bromsgrove attack.
