DANNY Williams blasted home his third free-kick of the season to defeat Carlisle after grabbing the ball off set-piece hopefuls John Melligan and Lloyd Dyer.

After struggling to find the net over the past two seasons, midfielder Williams is now Harriers top scorer and admitted his new technique was working wonders.

He said: "I used to just lean back and look at everyone else. My free-kicks would end up in the stand.

"Now I just keep my head down over the ball and I am striking them well at the moment. A run-up like Roberto Carlos is helping too!

"I would be happy to score eight goals this season and if I do get more than that, it will be a bonus."

Williams also set up Andy Bishop's goal and he added: "It was a great header from Andy. He really needed that goal.

"Bo Henriksen also needs a bit of luck up front but I feel he's done well in the last two games."

The four-goal 24-year-old was recently the subject of interest from another club, rumoured to be Chester, who also targeted Williams in the summer.

But he insisted: "I want to stay at Kidderminster because I am enjoying my football here. Yes, results haven't gone our way but they will come, like against Carlisle.

"There was some good football at times and there was a lot more space created when we attacked which we haven't seen here for a while.

"That was the first game I've played against Carlisle when I thought we've deserved to win. They did have a couple of chances but we had more.

"There's always pressure when you don't win games and you are second-from-bottom in the table.

"The gaffer has been telling us to just go out there and play our football. If you're too nervous and think about it too much, you're not going to have a good game."

Meanwhile, Williams is looking forward to the return of Drewe Broughton with Southend on Saturday.

He hopes the target man, who left for the Shrimpers in the summer, gets a good reception from the Aggborough crowd.

He added: "Drewe gave 100 per cent while he was here and the fans liked him for that. He will probably get sent off after five minutes!

"Southend haven't been going too well but we've got to put that to the back of our minds and get on with our jobs."
