VICTORY for Bromsgrove Rovers at home to Ilkeston Town tonight (7.45) will catapult the Victoria Ground club into fourth spot in the Dr Martens Western Division.

However manager George Rooney is only interested in boosting the club's points to games ratio rather than league position.

"It's still early days and I'm looking at three points not where it takes us," said Rooney.

"We need to be averaging two points a game and once we do we will know we are on the right track."

Rovers go into the match buoyed by a 3-1 win over Sutton Coldfield Town in Saturday's FA Trophy preliminary round tie but Rooney is still looking for improvement from his team.

"We played for 40 minutes but then just got sloppy which was disappointing because we were worth another goal," said Rooney.

Grant Beckett (bruising) is Rooney's only injury concern.

Stourport Swifts' manager Dave Titterton will hand Steve Hawkes a rare start in their Worcestershire Senior Cup clash with Studley at Walshes Meadow tonight (7.45).

"I'm giving the fringe players a run but the squad is not big enough to change the whole team round," said Titterton.

Meanwhile defender John Newall is to be sent for a scan on his knee after failing to recover from injury.

Westfields visit Racing Club Warwick tonight (7.45) bidding to chalk up their first away victory of the season in the Midland Alliance.

A tough pep-talk fired the Herefordshire side to victory at the weekend and chief executive Andy Morris admitted it had done the trick. "It takes time adjusting to this league but the managers felt the players needed to give a little bit more and we got our reward," said Morris.

Pershore Town welcome back Stuart Allen and Paul Dugdale for tonight's Worcestershire Senior Urn home clash against Tividale (7.45).

Manager Nigel Russell will also give Jamie Bird a late fitness test after the defender dropped out just before Saturday's 4-1 home defeat to Continental Star.

Worcester City are in action in the Midland Floodlit Youth League Cup at home to Blackheath Town (7.30).
