WALKERS from across Worcestershire are being encouraged to round up their friends and family and join the sponsored Walk for Wildlife 2003.
The charity event has been organised by the World Wildlife Fund to raise money to protect polar bears by maintaining their Arctic environment.
It leaves from the North Quay, Worcester, at 10.30am on Sunday, October 12.
Participants can decide between two routes, one of two-and-a-half miles and the other five miles.
"Every step you take on this year's WWF Walk for Wildlife will help raise vital funds to protect the lives, health and environment of polar bears in the Arctic," said Ray Mears, television's outdoor survival expert, who is backing the scheme.
To join in the day, call Lin Huckfield - a member of the WWF Worcester volunteer group - on 01905 754898 to obtain a sponsorship pack.
