TENTATIVE proposals to restrict council tax increases for pensioners are welcome, but do not go far enough (Evening News, Monday, September 22).
Many other low or fixed-income households also struggle to afford this unfair tax.
That's why the Liberal Democrats have pledged to scrap council tax completely and replace it with a local income tax that is much better related to the ability to pay.
