DORMER House took a big step towards retaining their Cotswold Floorball League title with two wins and a draw in Tuesday's first round of matches.
They easily beat Longborough 3-1 with Piers Boyce scoring twice and Harry Bates once. Freddie Nott rocketed in a late consolation.
St David's looked like upsetting their local rivals, but succumbed to two fine efforts from Will Barnett. Tim Firth scored late on for the Saints.
Only CCS caused them problems despite Bates and Boyce putting the holders ahead.
Aris Alexiou found his form late on and netted twice to gain a well-earned draw.
CCS had a close game against St David's when they only won courtesy of a late goal from Alexiou.
Ellie Bird and Charlotte Hall scored early on, but the Saints pulled back with two from Matt Magee.
This was St David's first attempt at the game, so it was no surprise when goals from Nott and Kyle Ellery gave Longborough a 2-0 victory.
