A WORCESTER woman died from a cancer of the lining of the lungs, usually associated with exposure to asbestos, an inquest has heard.
Sixty-five-year-old Kay Barnsley, of St Dunstan's Close, Cherry Orchard, Worcester, died on Sunday, August 3, at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
Cancer
Worcester coroner Victor Round told the inquest at Stourport-on-Severn that Dr Terry Jones had given the cause of death as mesothelioma - a cancer of the lining of the lungs.
He said it was usually associated with exposure to asbestos but it could not be identified when, if at all, that Mrs Barnsley had been exposed to the lethal material.
Mr Round recorded an open verdict.
