CHARITIES are invited to contact a Hereford food processing company for a slice of £20,000.
Sun Valley Foods, a poultry processor that employs 1,500 people in Hereford, sets aside £20,000 every year for large and small donations to local charities.
The announcement follows a company-wide poll to find the most deserving cause for support during the year.
Charities involved in the health sector received the majority of votes, in particular cancer, asthma, diabetes and heart problems.
Education, community, children and the elderly will also benefit.
"As a large local employer it is important that we support local people and their needs," said Jane Melton, charity co-ordinator for Sun Valley.
"We encourage our employees to choose the charities we support, as it makes it more personal for them, and they are part of the community. We like to support as many causes as possible and look forward to receiving applications for 2003."
Send requests with details of the project to Stephanie Hubbard, Storm Communication, 42 Tavistock Street, Covent Gardens, London. WC2E 7PB. The closing date for applications is Tuesday, September 30.
