BROADWAY played two friendly matches last weekend and were victorious on both occasions.

Entertaining a mixed side from Wood-lawns in Gloucester on Saturday, the men won convincingly on four of the five rinks to record a 110-72 success.

John Barlow was the highest winning skip on countback from Dave Dennis both winning by 12 shots.

There were also comfortable wins for Dennis Hall and George Tucker.

Scores: F Crosbie, P Smith, E Shorthouse, D Hall won 23-13. D Bailey, J Moore, A Walters, J Barlow won 27-15. K Speakman, T Morley, H Keyte, D Satterley lost 19-15. P Groom, R Turner, R Ryman, G Tucker won 24-16. J Keen, P Mansion, M Aubrey, D Dennis won 21-9.

Visitors the next day were Bank House and, after a close-fought tussle, Broadway emerged victorious 98-85 winning three of the five rinks.

Terry Morley laid claim to the best winning margin as his rink won by 13 shots. He was well supported by Les Skett - a six-shot winner - and Tucker who was victorious again.

The season is rapidly drawing to a close with this weekend being Finals Day with the final matches scheduled for the following weekend.
