STEVE Burns from Wyre Forest CRC overcame blustery wind and rain at the north end of the Salford Priors ten-mile Time Trial course to win the Evesham Wheelers hosted event on Saturday in 21.28 beating his nearest rival by 14 seconds.

Times were generally half-a-minute slower than expected for the 86 starters due to the weather although the top ten finishers averaged at least 28mph.

The fastest of eight ladies was Wendy Hall (24.12) while the fastest host club finisher was organiser Brian Newton.
