FLEDGLING actors and actresses will have the chance to take to the boards as the country's largest part-time stage school steams into Kidderminster.

Kidderminster Stagecoach, which has an open day on Saturday, will offer children the chance to train in dance, drama and singing with three professional teachers.

The classes, which are aimed at increasing pupils' confidence, poise and communication skills, will take place from 10am until 1pm on Saturdays at Marlpool First School.

Starting on September 20, they will run during the school term and enable four to 16-year-olds to work with other youngsters of their own age.

Principal and owner of the Kidderminster branch of the nationwide organisation Zoe Priestley, who has worked as a professional dancer and choreographer across the United Kingdom, said she loved seeing children grow in confidence, enthusiasm and concentration.

The Wolverhampton-based 28-year-old, who choreographs dance routines at Thorpe Park in Surrey, said: "To learn while having fun is what we provide.

"I think Kidderminster needs somewhere for younger children to go along and do singing, dancing and acting.

"I'm looking forward to opening up and seeing the talent come through and their confidence ooze," she added.
