ROBINS got their Ambassador League season off to a flying start with a comprehensive win over the league's new boys.

Elliott Gould opened the scoring before James Coldrick made it 2-0 following a corner.

The same player then fired over the keeper for his second, before David Stringer scored with a long-range drive.

Bryn Tomes made it 5-0 before Gould headed his second. Stringer followed suit with a left-footed drive, before Mark Washington tapped in the eighth.

Stringer completed his hat-trick after the break following a fine pass from Josh Downey, before an own-goal and a fourth for Stringer completed the scoring.

UNITED served up a veritable goal feast with Ben Scarrott the main contributor with nine goals.

Further goals came from Daniel Lamb, Carl Innes (2), Harry Charmley (3) and four from Oliver Banning.

Littleton's hard work was rewarded with a consolation from Matt Abbott.

Evesham Utd U-13 6,

Yarnton Boys 1

UNITED won their opening Witney League A Division game of the season.

The home side were soon in the lead when Joe Ford converted a chance from inside the penalty area. And, by half-time, they had doubled their advantage courtesy of Jon Wein's strike.

Yarnton had their best spell early in the second half and pulled back a goal. This led to a nervous few minutes as Evesham had to defend but, when they did attack, Adam Styles fired home to make it 3-1.

The Oxford visitors started to look tired and the Robins took full advantage with some great finishing from Michael Carter (2) and Rob Andrew.

LITTLETON'S first game in the Mercian League saw them run out comfortable winners.

They dominated the first half and were unlucky when Dan Keen and Matt Goss both hit the woodwork. Keen, however, soon put his side ahead with a header from Matt Smith's corner.

Keen's through ball then sent Ben Johns clear to score with ease and he made it 3-0 with a blistering shot into the top corner.

Luke Lowerson was unlucky to see his second half shot rebound to safety of the bar and post, but he did find the net after ghosting past three defenders before picking his spot.

Hadley Rgrs U-10 0,

Evesham Utd 3

EVESHAM started their new Mercian League campaign in style when captain James Bearcroft swung in a corner that Louis Brown headed firmly into the top corner.

Craig Whiting, a tigerish Owen Jones and the lively Bearcroft were forced to defend as Hadley sought to level the match.

New signing Dan Francis increased the lead when he picked up a clearance on halfway before running and shooting from just outside the box.

The second half saw more pressure from Hadley but the defence held firm with Leon Ballard producing two fine stops.

Evesham wrapped up the game when Sam Ford won the ball in his own half and switched the play to Brown. He placed the ball ahead of advancing player of the match Francis, who ran on to slot the ball inside the far post.

Pershore Tn U-10 11,

Sheppy Junior Swifts 2

PERSHORE started their new season with an excellent win over the league newcomers.

Hat-tricks From Josh Smith and Michael Ruff, four for Luke Jones and one from Sam Cross sealed a perfect start.

Sheppy battled hard and were rewarded with a penalty in the first half, but Town led 4-1 at the break.

They added another seven before the visitors were rewarded with a second goal.

Pershore Tn U-12 2,

Tewkesbury Youth 2

BOTH teams were determined to start the season with a win and it was Tewkesbury who dominated the first half.

They found the net twice to lead at the break but Town hit back strongly after the restart and levelled courtesy of goals from Steve Smaylen and Michael Diston.

The former almost snatched victory in the closing moments but the teams had to settle for a point apiece.

Pershore Tn U-11 2, Vale Wdrs 5

WANDERERS started the new season in emphatic style with a comfortable win over a gutsy Town outfit.

Vale went 3-0 ahead before Pershore hit back but the three-goal cushion was soon regained before a second home reply that met with another swift response.

Bredon Colts U-9 1,

Drakes Broughton 3

SATURDAY'S Ambassador League clash brought joy for the visitors who took a three-goal lead before Bredon grabbed a consolation.

Oliver Saunders gave Drakes the ideal start to the new campaign and further strikes from Saunders and Jack Mabbott ensured a winning start.

Bredon Colts U-10 0,

Drakes Broughton 2

COMMITMENT and territorial advantage counted for little as the hosts started the new season with a defeat.

The Drakes Broughton defence proved a tough nut to crack and, when Bredon did find a way through, the visiting side's goalkeeper made some fine stops.

Max Barber and Liam Robinson were both denied by fine saves but the losers should take great heart from a spirited showing.

Daniel Wilcox grabbed both Drakes goals.

Evesham Utd Girls U-12 4,

Severn City 0

MILLIE Stanley finally broke the deadlock just before half-time after god work from Deborah Lewis.

The scorer found the net again in the second half when a brace for Josephine Symmonds secured a handsome United success.

Ruth Benjamin was unlucky not to add to the total when her shot hit a post, while the strong defensive play of sarah Grant ensured City didn't find a reply.

Evesham Utd U-14 5, Westbury 2

UNITED started poorly and the visitors struck first through Daniel Davis.

However, Evesham gradually got their game together and Charlie Staley levelled with a fine strike.

The second half saw good finishing from James White and Jamie Kerr make it 3-1 but Davis netted again before a brace from Ben Bearcroft sealed United's win.

Bredon Colts U-11s 2,

Drakes Broughton 1

THE opening game of the new season saw last season's league winners Bredon Colts tackle Drakes in what proved a closely-fought match.

A first half goal by Rob Maizonnier gave the sharper Colts the lead but Drakes would have equalised had it not been for an excellent save from Rob Jeal. Bredon's win was effectively sealed in the first minute of the second half with a long-range strike from Matt Kibler.

Drakes fought their way back into contention with a goal from Owen Johnson that livened up the last five minutes but it was all to no avail.

Badsey Rgrs U-14 5,

Bredon Colts 0

IT needed a super save from Will Tyrrell and the woodwork to ensure Rangers were on terms at the interval.

Bredon were denied by a post and the Badsey goalkeeper's athleticism to keep out an errant shot from one of his own defenders.

It was a different story after the break as Rangers came out an inspired unit and Owen Powell opened the scoring within a minute of the restart.

The scorer then made it 2-0 when he finished off a flowing move and Joe Smith's thunderous drive from 20 yards secured victory.

Confidence at a high, Rangers produced some superb stuff late on and Ben Holland and Jamie Clarke both fund the net to cap a fine display.

Dane Aldington was named player of the match ahead of Stefan Ellis.
