TWO major events in Evesham Seniors calendar - the Mixed Open and the Autumn Cup - saw the former blessed with a full entry from a variety of clubs throughout the area.

The top three prize-winners came from visiting pairs and the remaining three prizes going to home pairings.

J and B Gazzard (Cann-ons Courts) won first prize with a staggering 48 points.

In the domestic competition for the Autumn Cup, no fewer than 12 senior competitors finished level or better than the standard scratch of 72.

John Jordan was the outright winner with a splendid net 65, playing off 25.

The annual seniors knockout competition has almost reached a conclusion, with M Whiteford and C Shepherd due to meet in the final.

The annual and ever popular Father & Son Open took place last Saturday with entries from as far afield as Surrey, Cheshire and Nottingham.

The Ford family had three generations involved among the 46 pairs.

The event was won by regular entrants Dave and Steve Smith from Fulford Heath with a tremendous 44 points, closely followed by Nick and Nick Ford (Marple) on 42 with Frank & Richard Adcock (Tolladine) in third.
