THE family and employers of a Stratford man killed in a car crash have paid him warm tributes.

Simon Farrimond, aged 29, died when his blue Ford Focus collided with a tree after it left the A46 near Billesley.

Simon was travelling towards Stratford when the crash happened. He was the only occupant of the car and died at the scene.

The family of the father-of-three, who was known to his friends as Faz, were too upset to speak at the time, but issued the following statement last Thursday after the crash at about

10pm on Tuesday, September 2.

His family said: "He was a loving husband and a doting father-of-three young children. He was a very popular person who had worked for a local firm for the last 14 years and

loved by everyone who came into contact with him. At this sad time his family ask for privacy and respect while they grieve."

Simon was a supervisor with electrical company EIC, a firm he had been employed with for 13 years.

The company issued a statement on Monday, which read: "Simon commenced his electrical apprenticeship with EIC in July 1990. He completed his apprenticeship over the next

four years and became a qualified electrician working all over the UK. After a few years, it became apparent that Simon had the capabilities to become a supervisor, which he was

until his untimely death.

"Throughout his time with EIC, Simon was hardworking, loyal and committed. He always had a smile no matter what pressures he was under and had a great sense humour."

Services director Stuart Lyall, commenting on behalf of his fellow directors, said: "Simon was well known and liked by the owners and senior management of EIC and will be sadly missed by all of his work colleagues. We offer our sincerest condolences to his family."

His funeral will take place at 1pm Stratford Methodist Church today. family-only service will then follow at Oakley Wood Crematorium. PC Alan Hepburn, from the road policing unit has appealed for witnesses to the crash to contact him 01926 415000.
