CHESS: Gerald Link got Kidderminster's new season off to a superb start when he won the £140 first prize at the Monmouth weekend congress by winning all five games in the major section.
Link came up against opponents from as far afield as Barry Island and Cornwall.
Kidderminster hold their annual meeting this evening at the Sutton Arms from 7.30pm.
Team captains will report the 2002-03 season was one of the most successful in their 103-year history.
