A 93-YEAR-old Alcester woman had £4,000 cash stolen in a distraction burglary at her home last Wednesday.
The pensioner, of Moorfield Road, came downstairs at about noon when she found a man in her kitchen.
He told her he was a builder and wanted to talk about a wall at the bottom of her garden but he left as soon as she questioned him about his identity.
Afterwards, the woman looked around her house and found £4,000 taken from her bedroom.
Alcester police have already made house-to-house inquiries and witnesses report seeing two men walking towards the house at noon. No vehicle was seen at the house.
Police have described the man who claimed to be a builder as white, tall, with dark hair and wearing a two-tone blue t-shirt and grey trousers.
Anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
