AN animal rights organisation has called on people to boycott Halfords stores until the company withdraws its adverts featuring performing chimpanzees.
Members of the Captive Animals' Protection Society (CAPS) held protests several months ago outside Halfords branches throughout the UK over the adverts.
CAPS claim the Independent Television Commission received more than 120 complaints about the adverts.
Halfords' headquarters are in Washford.
CAPS spokesman Craig Redmond said: "It is disgraceful Halfords has continued to broadcast this much-criticised commercial despite saying they would stop.
"We once more call upon Halfords to immediately withdraw this advert and encourage people to boycott Halfords until it is withdrawn."
