FILM buffs will be well catered for at the mac cinema in Birmingham's Cannon Hill Park this weekend.

They're presenting a Film 360 Festival on Friday and Saturday.

"Visitors to the festival will be amazed that some of these films have never been seen before - it's an incredible platform for screening some absolute gems'," said Pogus Caesar, the Festival founder

A whirlwind filmic experience featuring 35 films in just 360 minutes, the festival is spread over two nights and features a dazzling collection of cinematic works, from 20 seconds to 30 minutes.

It covers subjects as diverse as horror, documentary, hip hop and art in a major showcase from UK directors, ranging from Diesel Fuel's Colour of People, to Keith Allen's dark and edgy piece on Birmingham's UB40.

Organised by Windrush Productions, this micro-film festival gives directors a fantastic opportunity to exhibit their work and allows audiences greater access to the often under-exposed regions of the celluloid world. The collection features rare footage of McKenzie Crook (The Office) performing as 'Charlie Cheese' at the legendary Retort club in Edgbaston, as well as retrospectives on the lives and work of the late, legendary Motown singer Edwin Starr, and actress/ R & B superstar Aaliyah who tragically died in 2001.
