EMPLOYEES at a Lakeside company are gearing themselves up to receive a prestigious award from a royal visitor and his accompanying entourage.
On Tuesday, Arrowvale Electronics, based at Arrow Business Park, will greet HRH The Duke of Gloucester and the Lord-Lieutenant of Worcestershire.
They are visiting the company to present staff with the much coveted Queen's Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2003.
The company has received the award for its work in producing the On Train Monitoring Recorder (OTMR).
With many years of experience in conceptual design, production and project management in the railway engineering sector, Arrowvales's OTMR has been evolving for many years.
But the project gained momentum in the late 90s after the rail tragedies at Ladbroke Grove and Southall brought rail safety to the top of the agenda for radical reform.
