ONE of the world's greatest and most tragic love stories returns to the Malvern Theatres later this month when the English Touring Theatre stages a major new revival of Romeo and Juliet.

This brand new production, which opens on September 30, sets the jewel of young romantic love in the mud of a bustling, realistically drawn society in Verona, and with tragic inevitability, shows it being destroyed.

The ETC has assembled a superb cast for this new production. Laura Rees is Juliet. She was most recently seen in the RSC's production of Brand alongside Ralph Fiennes. Opposite her is Adam Croasdell who stars as Romeo. He has appeared in numerous productions including Antigone at Bristol Old Vic and Office Games at Pleasance Theatre. The extensive cast also includes Michael Cronin as Friar Laurence (Gloucester in King Lear at Malvern last autumn) and Anna Francolini as Lady Capulet (recently seen playing the lead in The Ballad of Little Jo at The Bridewell).

Romeo and Juliet plays in the Festival Theatre, Malvern from September 30 to October 4.

Tickets are £10 - £16 and are available from the Box Office on 01684 892277 or online at www.malvern-theatres.co.uk
