REDDITCH United face tough test away to league rivals Solihull Borough in the FA Cup first qualifying round on Saturday - but will be without six key players.

Quentin Townsend and Matty Gardiner go under the knife for operations while Richard Field (back), Gary Knight (groin), Lee Ross and Alex Cowley (suspended) will all be missing for the tie.

But despite the losses, Reds boss Rod Brown is still confident.

"There's no doubt that all those six players would have been involved in the game under normal circumstances but I'm still confident.

"We've got a good squad at the moment and we'll fancy our chances because we are playing well - if we get the first goal we will be in with a shout because I know we're a difficult side to break down."

The Reds will want to continue their unbeaten run in the league to move over to the cup - especially when it could net them more than £2,000 if they win.

Redditch scraped past Leek CSOB by the single goal in the preliminary qualifying round of the FA Cup.

And Brown was pleased with his side's performance against an underrated Leek Town on Saturday.

"A lot of people have written Leek off this season but they aren't a bad side. They're a big side and once they get adjusted to the league I can see them doing well."
