BARNT Green Spartak have made it seven wins in seven as their remarkable start to the season continues.

GJ Singh's side, who beat Burntwood Town 3-2 at home last Wedensday, won 2-1 at Bloxwich Town last Saturday, keeping them top of Midland Combination division one.

The boss said: "A win is a win and there are still 27 games to go but you can't ask for a better start than that. We expect ourselves to do well in this league and win this division."

Spartak made four changes to the Burntwood outing and gave new signing Earl Robinson his debut.

Early chances came and went as Delroy Brown had an effort ruled offside and Reckey Carter missed a penalty.

Carter headed on for Brown to smash an outstanding shot into the net to put Spartak ahead on 22 minutes.

The former Bromsgrove Rovers striker then set up Simon Campbell to head home his first of the season on the half hour.

Bloxwich had plenty of the ball after the break and they pulled a goal back on the hour mark, but Spartak held out for three points.

Castle Vale KH have put in a seven-day notice for goalkeeper Pete Maguire while Ray Clarke has turned down a move to premier division side Bolehall Swifts.

Spartak host Pilkington XXX tonight (Wednesday, 7.45pm).
