BARNT Green Cricket Club are celebrating a league and cup double after success for their junior section.
The Cherry Hill Road club's U15s retained the Halford Trophy against Avoncroft at Studley last Sunday to add to their U16s league triumph.
Green's U15s batted first in the 20-over final and lost their first three wickets for 23 runs before a good stand of 30 between skipper R Boardman and M Ahmed swung the match around.
Avoncroft took control and restricted their opponents to 12 runs off six overs but the departure of A Boardman (6) and D Delvie (3) saw Attwood and Wood hit 22 off the last two overs. Barnt Green finished on 102-8.
S Wood took a valuable wicket in the first over of the reply and, with Ahmed, R Boardman and L Radford, kept the score to 40-3 off ten overs.
Nicol and Rodway were the only two Croft batsmen to reach double figures as the last seven wickets fell for just 36 runs.
