BARNT Green Cricket Club First XI's slim chance of winning the Birmingham and District Premier League remain on track after an overwhelming win over relegated Wolverhampton last Saturday.
The six-wicket success, including 6-53 for Zimbabwean Gus Mackay, arrested a recent dip in form after losses against Moseley and Walsall.
Lyndon Jones won the toss for the first time in four games and put Wolves into bat.
After a shaky start, new ball bowlers Richard Wilkinson and Gus MacKay settled into their rhythm and removed dangermen Hector, Maiden and Lampitt with 60 runs on the board.
The inexperienced home batting line-up had no answer to Barnt Green's pressure with MacKay in particular bowling with great accuracy.
Wolverhampton were finally dismissed for 112 with Richard Illingworth and Wilkinson grabbing a brace of wickets each.
In reply, Richard Hall took his season's run tally past the 700 mark as he accumulated steadily to reach 50.
Matt Dallaway (11), Gavin Haynes (12), Wilkinson (16 not out) and Simon Froggatt (12no) all supported as Green easily reached their target in 29.4 overs.
