NICK Husbands took his wicket total to 64 for the season during Bromsgrove Cricket Club First XI's winning draw at Stratford.

The Boars' skipper recorded figures of 5-53, aided by Kish Patel's 3-83, to see his side restrict Stratford to 198-8 in their rain-affected penultimate Birmingham and District division one match last Saturday.

Husbands lost the toss and was put in, but lost Jordan Rose for nought.

Simon Keyte soon followed to leave the visitors stuttering at 10-2. Nick Davies (41) and Paul Duffy put on 67 for the next wicket.

Nick Reade and Duffy were delayed by rain for 30 minutes before the pair took the score to 143.

Ross Liddell then made 43 and Duffy finally fell to Jones for a superb 75. Bromsgrove finished on 238-6 with Jamie Campbell unbeaten on 17.

Husbands took Luke Parker's wicket in reply and Humphreys (10) fell the same way, leaving the hosts struggling at 36-2.

Warwickshire batsman Huw Jones ran brilliantly with Joshi (17) and Lamb, but tight bowling from Patel and Husbands kept the run rate down.

Jones was stumped by Hill for 75. Lamb (35) fell to Husbands, caught by Hill.

Patel then bowled Noble (3) and Husbands removed the dangerous Pieters (2) but it was too late for victory as the rain took away three crucial overs.

The game finally finished with Stratford on 198-8.
