THE Palace Theatre will be transformed with The Locrian Ensemble's production Classic Romance by Candlelight on Saturday.

In period costume and in an evocative candlelit setting, The Locrian Ensemble will play well-loved classics such as Bach's Air on a G String, Mozart's Flute and Harp Concerto, Elgar's Salut d'Amour and Strauss' Blue Danube.

The show is introduced by the Ensemble's knowledgeable, humorous and occasionally outrageous artistic director Justin Person, and features the renowned harpist Jean Kelly.

Formed in 1995, the acclaimed Locrian Ensemble brought together some of the most prominent string soloists in London.

They have gone on to establish an enviable reputation for recordings and live performances, have cut a record with Madonna and have played on the soundtrack to the Harry Potter movies.

A Palace Theatre spokesman said: "This is a truly unique way to enjoy classical music."

Tickets, priced £12.50 (£12 Reddicard), are available on65203 or email palace.bookings@redditchbc.gov.uk
