STUDLEY are celebrating a double transfer coup ahead of Saturday's FA Cup clash with Dr Martens Western outfit Bromsgrove Rovers at The Beehive (3pm).

Bees boss Mark Chambers has snapped up the surprise services of St Kits international Seretse Cannonier and Romulus' high-rated midfielder Aaron Brown who has been plying his trade in the Midland Combination Premier League.

And according to Chambers, Cannonier looks and plays like Bolton Wanderers and Nigerian ace Jay-Jay Okocha while Brown has been a player monitored by many clubs.

"We got wind of him being here and he's played a few games for us," said Chambers. "We've liked what we've seen and have decided to sign him although I don't think he or we know what his best position is yet!"

Cannonier, who has moved from the Caribbean to Birmingham, is likely to take some part in the FA Cup clash while Chambers pushes through the paper-work for Brown this week.

The Bees have already broken club records by reaching the second preliminary round of the competition - and Chambers will tell his players just to enjoy the occasion .

"To be fair, it's what I tell the players before every game," he revealed. "But when the FA Cup comes around you particularly have to enjoy it. It's the furthest we've ever gone in the competition and, of course, financially it's a big boost to the club (Bees will net £2,000).

n Alvechurch are coming to terms with some long-term injury problems ahead of this Saturday's Midland Football Alliance clash with Coalville Town at Lye Meadow (3pm).

Church's joint-manager Neil Byran has confirmed that midfielder Brett Skinner and Paul Smith will, ironically, both be out for three months after they've undergone ligament operations next week.

Midfielder Rob Powell is also facing a spell on the sidelines.

n Feckenham are looking to add Romulus midfielder Dave Unit to their Midland Combination Premier Division squad with a number of players unavailable to Millers' manager Lee Adams over the coming weeks. The club have put in a seven days transfer request to the league.
