DARK Lane Angling Club's Pete Quirke landed all chub and barbel to top the list for the Peridot Shield and 7th aggregate match on Saturday with a total weight of 11lb.
Second was Keith Jones with two barbel for 8lb 2oz followed by Dave Gibbs with 6lb 14oz, Jon Hougton with 5lb 11oz, Simon Howl with 5lb 5oz and Tony Sabin just behind with 5lb 4oz.
Club members and guests enjoyed a pleasant day out on the recent annual River Wye trip to Holme Lacy.
Although the river was at normal summer level the weights were low due to the absence of barbel and chub. However, the consistent Tony Sabin topped the list with a peg below the bridge to net 8lb 9oz of mainly dace.
Second was Graham Burford with 8lb.
