WARWICKSHIRE Bears captain Michael Powell is telling his players to guarantee their survival in the National League division one by beating relegated Worcestershire Royals at Edgbaston today (4.10pm).

He said: "Never mind about Worcester's situation. We still need to win to make ourselves safe. No matter what's actually at stake, it's always a big game when Warwickshire play Worcestershire."

Warwickshire need to win one of their last two matches to be mathematically sure of sealing their division one survival.

Worcestershire skipper Ben Smith, whose side's relegation was confirmed when they lost to Yorkshire Phoenix on Sunday, said: "Day-night cricket invariably makes for a fine spectacle.

"Hopefully we can go out and show we can play well in this competition."
