St Mary's Convent School

GIRLS at St Mary's Convent, Worcester, achieved "outstanding" GCSE results this year.

A* and A grades were achieved in more than half the results.

Ninety-seven per cent of pupils in Year 11 gained five or more subjects at grades A* to C.

And six pupils gained straight A* or As.

They were: Emily Gray (11 subjects); Lucy Abbs (10 subjects); Lucy Phelps (10 subjects); Hollie Willetts (10 subjects); Alice Newsholme (10 subjects); Grace O'Sullivan (nine subjects).

Lucy Phelps also took AS music a year early and achieved an A grade.

A 100 per cent pass rate was achieved for the Year 10 girls who took RE a year early.

And 80 per cent of the 15 year 10 examinees passed at A* or A grade.

Acting headmistress, Susan Cookson said: "I am delighted with the performance of all of our girls, who have each achieved their own personal best due in no small part to their hard work, excellent teaching and parental support."
