WORCESTER City have today sold their 19-year-old central defender Dan Jones to Dr Martens Western Division neighbours Halesowen Town for an undisclosed four figure fee.

City manager John Barton said: "Like most young player's Dan wants to play regular first team football and with the strength and depth of our squad at present he saw his opportunities as limited.

"At this stage of his development, reserve team football was not going to help him progress. We had two en-quiries about him this week which resulted in a good offer being made by Halesowen and we have accepted it."

Jones joined City in the summer of 2002 having been released by Kidderminster Harriers and was previously with Coventry City as a youngster.
