THE future for the Malvern branch of Powerhouse is unclear.
The electrical goods retailer went into receivership last week and more than 93 of the group's 223 stores will shut.
The manager of the Malvern branch, at the Malvern Retail Park, Roman Way, was this week unwilling to comment on the possible impact on the store. Its head office was unavailable for comment.
The group, formed through the merger of the retail sections of four regional electricity companies, has been hit by problems with paying its suppliers.
Accountants Deloitte & Touche, which has been appointed as receiver to the company, say the business may be sold as a going concern, possibly to electrical superstore rivals Curry's or Comet.
