A WATER company has finally agreed to find out why a Malvern family has been living with brown water for two years.
Mark Dewson, of Pickersleigh Road, and his wife and four children have been pressing Severn Trent Water to clean up the system for the last twelve months.
The Dewsons have been living off bottled water and have had to buy expensive purifiers.
"It's not fit to drink or bathe in," said Mr Dewson, "I've had a sore throat, the kids are getting ill - we don't want to drink the water. My wife buys bottled water which isn't cheap.
"We've got a water purifier which has clogged up. It should last six months but it will last two or three at the most. It hardly runs out, it's clogged with sediment or mud or rust.
"In the last six months I've been complaining a lot to do something but they don't come and sort it.
"They just don't want to know - they aren't interested."
After being contacted by the Gazette, Severn Trent spokesman Caroline Hosie said the company would be looking into the cause.
"By the end of this week we should have a resolution," she said, "The water is not harmful in any way but we accept it's unpleasant and unacceptable. It shouldn't have taken this long to sort out. We can only apologise for the way it has been handled."
