KIND-hearted Droitwich residents are helping raise cash for disabled youngsters at a charity toy auction.

The auction will be held at St Andrew's Parish Centre, in St Andrew's Street, between 10am and 1pm on Saturday, August 30.

The cash raised will go toward the children's mobility charity Whizzkids.

The charity helps provide funding for mobility equipment for those with disabilities throughout Worcestershire.

Whizzkids therapist Joanne Maconnel said: "A three-wheeled trike for a disabled child can cost around £600, with electric wheelchairs costing as much as £12,000.

"The charity has helped several disabled children in Droitwich so far, with another two waiting. We have also helped children all over Worcestershire, including Bromsgrove and Redditch.

Anyone wishing to donate toys to the auction can call Whizzkids on 01905 771157.

To apply to the charity for funding, call the central office on 020 7233 6600.
