A BRIDE suffered an horrific wedding night attack when her husband repeatedly punched her in the face.

The drunken assault caused the "immediate and final termination" of the marriage, Worcester magistrates heard.

Kenneth Lundy, of Brookthorpe Close, Warndon, was celebrating tying the knot when he began drinking after the ceremony on Friday, June 27.

The revelry continued into the evening when Lundy went to Tramps nightclub, in Angel Place, with some friends, while his wife, Michelle, continued drinking with others.

They met up around 12.20am and had an argument outside the club, when 36-year-old Lundy lost his temper and struck out.

"He was the worse for alcohol and she came to take back their house-keeping money for safe keeping," said Paul Whitfield, prosecuting. "She said in a sarcastic voice 'Thanks for a great day'.
